Door Supervisor up skilling (Top-up qualification)

Who is this qualification for?
This is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a door supervisor and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualification requirements
Entry Requirements:
It is an SIA requirement that each learner is sufficiently qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. Therefore, all candidates will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate that meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
If you don’t have a valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate, you can undergo our 3 day Door Supervisor Top-up that includes the mandatory first aid training.
What is covered
- Terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat (SIA Act and ACT for Security)
- Use of equipment relevant to a door supervisor
Actions to take in relation to global (or critical) incidents
Physical interventions and the implications of their use
The risks associated with using physical intervention
How to reduce the risks associated with physical intervention
How it is delivered
A mixture of classroom and practical training such as using practical use of radios, body-worn cameras, report writing, searching and physical intervention training.
How will I be assessed
This qualification is assessed by practical assessments and multiple-choice examinations.

Answer: The SIA need to make sure that people working in the private security industry can:
- keep the public safe
- follow new working practices
- understand recent changes to the law
- make the best use of new technology
